Thanks I thought it was Slovakia, but wasn’t certain. The supply chain issues are not isolated to factories though, so I suspect the delays we have already seen on the larger screens could easily spread to affect other components. I’m so done with COVID.

Many of the electronic systems that will be in short supply are common across the entire range so I would think JLR are prioritizing the high revenue earning models. XE and XF are the obvious casualties. F-Type volume too low to care about. Discovery sport probably has low profit margin. Still, it must be a real nightmare managing this situation right now—not just for JLR but for all car manufacturers.

Off topic from semiconductors.

I’ve ordered 22” All Season Tires. Considering if I should change them from Off Road before my order is locked in.

I will not do much off-road however, probably once a month and nothing extreme.

Worth it or not for the trade off with road noise and durability? I read another post saying the factory option was a good compromise, not a rugged off road tire. Thoughts? Even better, pics?

It's a very high volume dealer, so I think they may have put us in their early allocation.

Given how long new cars are taking to be delivered we'll stick with the standard differentials. Spoke to our guy this morning and he wasn't at all concerned about it in snow and gravel roads camping without it and it sounds like you're of the same opinion! Our RRS has 225k miles on it, so I don't think we could wait in either case
I would suggest to try to use this to get a better price from them for the inconvenience. Back when I bought my wife’s D5 I ordered it with the diesel engine and when it showed up five months later it had the wrong engine (gas), so I negotiated with them a better price (original price was MSRP and got a 5% out of the issue). Your situation is a bit different and given demand for Defenders it might not work, but would not hurt to try.

I did not order the rear diff and have been having afterthoughts about it, but as someone mentioned I have found enough videos out there showing the car being extremely capable without it, which has given me reassurance.

Finally, following this thread have learned how many bad dealer behaviors this car is eliciting, which has made me even more appreciative of the experience so far with my advisor. If you are still looking to order one and don’t mind purchasing out of state (or are in UT), happy to refer you. Just PM me.

We have two 2021 110's and one has the 22" wheels with all season tires and the other has the off road package with the 20". As you know, the 22's are not available with an off road package. I find no real difference in ride quality and think each has positive points. The 22's just look amazing and for everyday use they will be great. In our case, my spouse will likely never take her Defender off road, while I will and think the off road tires on mine are a great asset. Plus if you have snow, the added traction could be a great bonus.

My order was finally submitted on Monday this week - last amendment date 6/23, build date 7/23, delivery date 10/1 - although they tell me they think it may move up in priority between now and then.

2022 Defender 110 P300, Tasman blue with white roof and white steelies, air suspension, tow pack, off-road tires, cold climate pack, raised air intake, black hood decal, wheelers protection and mudflaps, expedition roof rack, clear sight mirror, large screen

Dealer managed to slip some extra profit items in there too, so I need to 86 them before the final order date.

Had thought about doing aftermarket underbody protection, but now I'm thinking I'll do the factory one to start.

Was on the fence about paying the extra for the premium LED lights and foglight - what are people's thoughts on those?

Congrats on the order. Love the build with the color, roof, and steelies.

What underbody protection are you referring to?

I would not skimp on the premium headlights.

Got order placed into the system today and these were the dates on the spec sheet.. 2022 110 X-Dynamic with larger screen. So i am assuming these dates cannot be correct.. Right? Earlier this week dealer told me it would be Sept - Oct.

Last Amendment: 4/28/21
Build Date: 5/23/21
Delivery Date: 7/23/21

I have a build date of 6/11 with the larger screen. JLR might be allocating parts for the defenders as they are pausing production of other models at some of their manufacturing plants.

Is that screen in other models of JLR autos?
