Yep, nice brochure .. really interesting:

Taming the V8 beast (I suspect it cannot be turned off?):

TERRAIN RESPONSE® 2 DYNAMIC PROGRAM Exclusive to Defender V8, Terrain Response 2’s Dynamic Program provides added precision to the off and on-road capability of the Defender. This means even tighter body control with flatter handling and sharper responses*. The engine, gearbox response, steering weighting and V8 powertrain are all tuned by Dynamic Program. This has been specifically designed to optimize performance on low friction surfaces such as tarmac, sand and dirt roads.

Paying the piper for the V8 in payload (lbs).:

90 V8 -- 1210 90 P400 -- 1650 90 P300 -- 1760
110 V8 - 1365 110 P400 - 1760 110 P300 --1870

I am looking forward to hearing driving impressions of the V8 beast -- and how it sounds, of course!!!

They probably could have stopped at 90, but they know 110 sells better

oh wow. diesels are now caput for the FFRR and RRS for 2022 (the TD6 had been there for 2021). which means you can't order a new LR with a diesel in the USA... at all. Unbelievable.

For standard vehicles Diesel is out and electric is in.

Um...all this time I thought the new Defender was a 4x4, not AWD.
I think there is a difference and not sure why I made this assumption.
I do know it's not an SUV.

I'm on the cusp of needing reading glasses (getting older...), and a quick switch from distant to near objects takes me a few seconds for my eyes to adjust.

Somewhere in the fine print, the LR literature mentions the same thing about the Clearsight mirror. I went ahead and ordered it anyway, but suspect I may leave it in normal mirror mode most of the time.
Wearing reading glasses while driving??? Maybe bifocals or?/ We love the ClearSight mirrors; would not be without it. Does take a bit of getting used to but the wide angle view is excellent.

Just signed up since I also am on the west coast (SF Bay Area) with a build date of 5/4 and a delivery date of 6/25. It’s on the Titus which is currently already at the Panama Canal. Looks like it’s scheduled to reach Port Hueneme on 6/5.

Met with my dealer today. Land Rover added $5k to the price of all V8s.
