my dealer said it looks like the 11.4" might now be standard over here. nothing about the P400e though. I think JLR is making some odd decisions for what they bring over.

US Configurator now offers both 2021 and 2022, but with 2021 you get a Build Your Own option and with 2022 that option isn't there. I guess they're working on the website, because every time I go back and refresh something is different on the Defender pages.

I just want a 110S with options, not looking to build a pimp wagon.
I sure hope I can get that bigger screen.
Ill be ordering in a few months.

Specs on both versions of the V8 list the 10 inch touchscreen as standard. This is from the land rover usa page

Reviewing the LR UK site and USA site via the defender models page. The USA page reflects only one engine type per model, while the UK site has a drop down for each available engine. Not sure if that is the nail in the coffin for the PHEV engine for the USA or not.

It appears yet again they don't want to bother certifying new engines for the USA. It could be some kind of government delay I suppose, but I really think this is a choice they are making. 🤨

2022 MY order guide for US. The quality is pretty bad, but that's what I got from my rep. Most notable changes are that the air suspension is only standard on X and V8 models. All other models get coil suspension as standard and air suspension is I think an $1600 option (the resolution of the pdf is crappy, so it's hard to make out). The Meridian Surround Sound system is now standard on SE, XD SE and XD HSE. Clearsight mirror is now being replaced with Auto-dimming rear view mirror as standard on SE, XD SE and XD HSE. Sliding panoramic roof is also standard on SE, XD SE and XD HSE. There are more changes, but these are the ones that are listed separately in the guide.
And finally, the larger screen is a $140 option on all the models.

HPat - excellent find, thank you for providing the order guide! I just manually "re-built" my 2021 config in a spreadsheet, and it's coming in $1,090 higher.

The main differences I could see (and this is for P300 110s):
MSRP is $200 higher
Coil springs are now standard. Air springs add $1,600
Meridian audio (previously $350) and heated seats (previously $500) are now standard)
So net, 2022 is a $950 increase vs 2021 (assuming you were planning to buy air springs, meridian audio and heated seats)

The other "option" is a larger 11.4" touchscreen ($140). That seems like a no-brainer... I see there's already another thread discussing 11.4" vs 10" touscreen... I'm curious to see if there's any "cons" to upgrading to 11.4.

Oh - and also of significance: 2022 model builds will begin April 12, 2021, with start of delivery on June 11, 2021

Electronically deployable tow bar? What could possibly go wrong.

I have an HSE order in.

2021 base HSE price was $71,600 with the 2022 HSE at $72,500 ($900 increase).

The 2022 changes for the HSE has standardized the meridian surround sound system ($450 upgrade in the 2021s) and it lowered the cost of Premium Metallic paint to $1,050 from $1,750. They removed the clearsight mirror, which is $450 and the air suspension which is $1600.

So $1150 saved from the sound system and paint, but $2050 extra when losing previous standards of the clear sight and air suspension. That equals out to a $900 additional expense and when combined with the $900 increase of the base HSE price it will now cost me $1800 more for a 22 vs 21 HSE...

I can upgrade the display screen, but seems like a huge jump in price when considering the price of the 2020's just a few months ago.

The XS edition seems to be the HSE+ edition as it has extras like the clearsight mirror, three zone climate control ($1075 for 21's), Cabin Air ionization, Air Quality sensor, premium cabin lighting among others.. Its base price is $600 cheaper than the HSE. Color options are limited. Body coloured cladding and arches seems appealing.
