I was relieved on the pricing but yes they used to be even cheaper

That’s because they are $40 for a Chevy pickup of the same year lol
Success! With the help of the guidelines set out in this thread (thanks Gavin) I replaced the rear brake pads on my 2021 this morning.
At 41k miles I didn’t feel it necessary to replace the rotors, so it was pads only purchased through Lucky 8 for $188.
The process was not all that different from the rear pad replacement on my wife’s Volvo V60 which I did last weekend.
I used my GAP tool to put into service mode, which was less complicated than I expected.
Overall the pad replacement was quite easy.
