We were not sure. The ride leader had scouted the route in the days prior and it was not there so it was a surprise. It emerged out of the fog like something out of a movie scene really.... things were quitetight to the edge of the hill. Our take was that it either was an equipment failure, or they were trying to block the trail. I found a better pic of me coming thru it.

it was clear pretty far up. Not sure how far I went before turning around. I had just done Geneva Rd immediately before. I made it up to a closed gate.

Geneva is sort of a hidden gem. Up at the top the ghost town is pretty neat (took a hard man to live & work there), and you are essentially encircled by pretty steep peaks if you hike to the upper lake.

Much less brushy after my trimming. Still got a few new stripes.
