I've added all the features on the list I want. Approach unlocking doesn't work on my MY2022 as was expected. That would be handy.
  • Global close. Very useful.
  • Fog lights can remain on with high beams (rare I use them but I prefer that they remain on with high beam)
  • Dynamic mode. Wasted on the likes of me but it's fun to look at.
  • Wi-Fi hotspot. Not sure what this brings to the party as I've no data plan for it. Do I need one? Interested to know from others what it does for them.
  • Tailgate Fob action.
  • On Demand eLift. (Not an activation as such but it's a great feature to have)
If the ACC nut ever gets cracked that's the only remaining item.
What are these 2?

Tailgate Fob action.

On Demand eLift. (Not an activation as such but it's a great feature to have)”

Also, just to make sure I’m looking at the same thing, can someone send a link for the correct Gap IID? I’ve got the ‘23 Defender 75th Anniversary Edition if that matters. I was just looking at the sure, and maybe I’m missing my vehicle being listed.

Thanks and sorry for being a dummy!

The Wi-Fi hotspot is very handy. If you have a device like a Wi-Fi only iPad you can hot spot off the vehicle’s cellular. I use it frequently in my Lincoln and my Defender.
as I said. Just a thought re the CarPlay. I used my phone to do all the activations so it was connected to the car and the GAP till I turned off CarPlay.

very likely irrelevant but figured I’d mention it given my own initial difficulties.

I must try and see if an iPAd will connect to the Defenders WiFi. Not tried it. That would be handy on long drives for sure. I’d probably shell out for a couple of click and go attachments (iPad to back of seat) if it works.

opening the tailgate with the key fob and adjusting the stock ride height.

the former is in the list in post 1.

the latter is controlled in height tab.

The procedure looks like it's working until the end when it says CCF version is not yet supported. The PIVI updated a couple days before I attempted to make changes. I've also double checked the GAP firmware twice. Yes, I have looked through the manuals. Any thoughts?
Everything is working now. The Gap Team is fantastic and responded quickly. They had to adjust my build and sent me a Beta that works perfectly. Not sure if the issue I was having had to due with the last LR update or not.

my iPhone and iPads connect just fine. It’s great, but I find the truck’s cellular coverage to be a little spotty. My Lincoln has AT&T, which now has really good coverage. T-mobile seems lacking in some areas I frequent.

@MJDuell - what Pivi version were you on? 4.0? or 4.0.1?

I'm having the same issue. Tried making a change for the first time today.

I updated the firmware per the instructions, and then rechecked it again after I received the error. I have the latest firmware installed.
The app is freshly downloaded and is operating on an IOS Iphone 13 with the 16.6.1 installed.
My Defender is a 23.5 model year. The PIVI version is 4.0.0

I emailed GAP - we'll see what they can do in the morning.

Go to GAP. I left them a message on the form and they responded quickly. I think there are some issues with 23.5 installs. They sorted mine fast.

Thanks, i emailed them and they sorted it out the same way they did for you. I had to download a different version of the firmware.

I was able to get quite a few things changed last night after the firmware update. Some things worked, others just didn't work well for me.

What worked:
  • Activate WIFI/WLAN hotspot
    • I can see and connect, wasn't able to get online with it though. Could just be where I was parked. More to come on that one.
  • DRL's dim with signals and hazards instead of shutting off completely
  • Fog lights stay on with high beams
  • 007 screen
  • Remember last user settings - stop.start
  • Dynamic mode. After a couple user induced errors I can see and configure the screens. I really don’t think anything is changing though. Steering didn’t change, and throttle response appears to be the same. I don’t get any red gauges either. Still fun to tap the race helmet and select the g force meter. Ha.
  • Tow Assist
    • Just backed my Whaler into the garage with my hvac dial. Trailer assist is absolute magic! That’s worth the price of the programmer right there.
What doesn't seem to work:
  • Configurable Terrain response
    • No errors on the dash, but no changes in menu selections or any indication it's there. Any thoughts on what this does? What buttons should I push to see if I have anything?
  • All Terrain Progress Control
    • Must be more to this one besides the one line of code. I made the change and then got the brake assist error so I changed it back

Could just be my Defender doesn't have a lot of bells and whistles so some of this won't activate. Mine is a 23.5 P300 S without air ride, but I have the full digital dash.

Wi-Fi does indeed work although the coverage is such that it brings very little to the table.

first night drive where I made use of fogs on all the time. Sure does add a lot of ditch light when on full beams.

I’m surprised how much improvement this little change makes. I’m a fan.

Wonder if it is different depending on vehicle. I have all the red light and such. Mine which is a P400 is different when selected. The gear changes are held longer and the throttle is more responsive. In manual mode does yours hold gears until you change them? Wondering if the lack of red dash lights means that it is still not active? Maybe the P300 is different when dynamic is set? I would be curious to know if those that report it not completely changing if they own a P300 or P400.

  • Tow Assist
    • All of the changes stuck, but I don't see anything different.
    • I haven't hooked up a trailer yet, I'll hold full judgement until I do that. I was expecting to at least see the trailer button light up on the dash.

You will not see any difference until you have a trailer hooked up and have created and selected a trailer profile.
