Headlight failure (led ring/DRL)
Powerful U.K. sell the headlights for £800 (around $1,000)
l don't know if they are offering LHD versions yet though.
However due to the large number of failures on these lights, you'd surely have a case for Land Rover to replace free of charge.

Still having a hard time wrapping my head around a $4,000 replacement headlight assembly.[/QUOTE]
l imagine there's more profit for Land Rover on that part, than they make for the vehicle itself when it's sold new.

I was on my daily walk yesterday and a Defender drove past me with the right ring out. I just shook my head, been there done that. Not to mention did the back lights too, among other things, all within the first year I owned it. Cool vehicle but impossible to own out of warranty IMO. I won't be buying another. I even bought the extended warranty which was a smart move, didn't need it and got refunded when I traded it in but the whole back and forth to the dealership to get it fixed every other month got old really quick.

There are cars that bring joy and there are utility cars. I own both types (one of them is toyota sienna hybrid van, noisy and cramped), utility ones might not break but they absolutely suck in many cases.
But yeah, paying over $90-100K for blown headlights in 4 years kind of sucks.

Ordered a 110 250D HT in July / delivery expected mid-DEC. After ordering, I was notified by LR that all cars delivered after JUL 1 - would have 5 years / 150k warranty (Denmark). When buying new Defender, this really changes things for me; It eases the fear of a “catastrophic-vehicle-failure” for the first 5 years. I am not sure if this new 5Y/150k warranty is issued in other euro markets?
I figure the fine folks at LR, know they've got you over a barrel if you need one. No one else makes them so no competition. They may as well charge $10k.
One more genius design choice in a "go anywhere" vehicle.

They're available from Powerful U.K. at around £1200 each.
Still expensive, but better than £4,000
So either someone else is making them, or Land Rover are charging a massive markup on the part.
