Just replaced at 4.5 years and 22,000 miles. Disappointing.

4.5 years is not bad for a battery regardless of mileage.

Agree. Throughout my automotive history the rate of battery failure has been actually higher on the cars I put less miles on that the ones I drive every day, even when using trickle chargers to maintain the batteries. 4.5 is not a bad number at all.

You may want to make sure the DC-DC converter isn't failing. I had the same issue...

Yea, but I base my assessment on two previous LR Sports (5+ years for each battery) and a Maserati (10+ years). I get that there's a lot more electronics on my 22' 110, but still can't be at least slightly disappointed that my Defender's battery didn't make it to 5yrs (understand there is a lot more electronics on my Defender than the other vehicles I cited).

LOL, I just noticed that the DCDC converter failure is real! will preemptively replacing the 12V battery prevent the DC converter failure?
