I've learned to live with it, as apparently this cannot be "upgraded" to Meridian Surround after the fact.
It would require an automotive custom sound shop with their own recommendation of speakers/amps/processors/etc which would be leagues better than any of the factory options. However, it's still a bummer since it was something you selected and were willing to pay for.
Right with you. I'm happy with the 700w system in our current Defender but the one on order just got downgraded to the 450w system. Probably going to spend $8K for an aftermarket system.

Does anyone else have a defender delivered from the Baltimore port currently? Mine was on the Titus, which arrived on 1/12/23. Was scheduled for delivery last week, but from what the dealer is saying, it is still stuck there. The only addon i had was the underbody protection, so guessing that is the hold-up.

Whatever the hold up is, that's not it. The undershield is a dealer installed accessory, not a port installed accessory.

I rather have the meridian surround sound then the analogue if i needed to chose.

Most of the time i use carplay anyway.

I'm trying to get extra discount on painted wide wheel arges, expeditionrack, and roof stairs.

let's see.

the strange thing was that the fabric changed it from idd to analogue begin January. dealer changed it 10 January. close last chance date was 18 january and fabric changed back to analogue 19 January....started calling the importer (is that good english?) and then the bad news came. no ore IDD for any build defender from now on.... i'm curious if that's really the case...
My build was also downgraded from digital cluster to analogue dials. 110 X P400. Build was just committed last week. I do have the Meridian surround sound still listed.

Adding my own datapoints:

Location: British Columbia, Canada
Model: Defender X 110
Ordered: June 2022
Built: Dec 2nd, 2022
On the boat: January 8th 2023
In port January: January 17th 2023
ETA dealer: Feb 13th 2023

Recently heard that sound system was downgraded from Meridian 3D Surround to the base Meridian Sound. Receiving $750 CAD credit (which doesn't really compensate when you're spending $130,000 CAD on the vehicle). Searching the internet, does seem to be a knock-on effect that is sweeping through both Land Rovers and Range Rovers (they've lost their Autobiography sound, and receiving the 3D instead; we lose the 3D and get base system).

Supposedly all my other options survived (including IDD), though I'll believe it when I see it.

I say that, but mysteriously the mudflaps ($250 CAD option) couldn't be fitted at factory. So now they'll be installed by dealer - for $820! What a scam.

You'd think that spending such a large sum of money on a vehicle for the first time in your life would be a feelgood experience. Strange.

Also located in BC. My Defender X 23.5 110 arrived August 2022 missing the much discussed sunglass holder, rear climate seats and usb ports.
Unsure of which dealership you ordered yours through, and how you intend on financing, however be aware that above the $10k export restriction deposit they may also add themselves as co-owner of the vehicle for 12months to prevent resale. I was floored when signing the paperwork they sprung this on me. Makes for a bit of hassle dealing with ICBC later down the road.

Keep us posted once the car is at the dealer. If mine gets downgraded to the base audio I will most likely refuse delivery. Spending over US$100k on a vehicle and I'll receive terrible looking analog dials and potentially a base sound system just isn't cutting it for me. They also removed the spare wheel cover from my build. Go figure. JLR really is not handling this supply chain issue too well. I know it's impacting other manufacturers as well, but I'm not seeing anything to this extent. We are buying top trim models and receiving components from base models which is ridiculous. My dealer didn't even offer anything to make up for the loss of IDD - and the cost to retrofit is close to $3500.

Mine arrived today and I went to check it out. I ordered a Defender 110x. The sound was downgraded to the base meridian sound, but I have all of the meridian sound speakers in the car, I was confused by this, I don't have the option in the settings to turn the surround on though. I was surprised to see that I did get two of the 4 charging ports (type c, missing the barrel plug) in the rear and the one up front as well. Digital clusters were there too.

Thanks. I'm purchasing outright (saved a LOONG time for this). Dealer is in Richmond - and to be fair, they were upfront about the export restriction fee, so I've had time to get used to the idea - though it's now $20k (quite the choker in light of current interest rates)!!
