Default Tire size opinion

Hello all! I just received my 1.5 Johnson rods for my 2020 110X. I’m trying to decide whether to go with 285/45R22 or 305/45R22 tires on my factory 22” wheels. I’m planning to purchase Nitto Ridge Grapplers. Feedback on this is greatly appreciated! TIA!

JR-

Mine is the all black one with the 275-60-20 all terrains on this thread. I'm really wanting to switch to a mud terrain like the BFG, KM3 or Toyo Ridge Grappler so my question is would the 33x12.50 or the 275-65-20 fit with your 1.5" lift?

Thanks,
Joe

I would expect Johnson Rods to tell me why their product is better than what I am asking about.

Default No lift w/ 275/60/20's ....

I often go into garage's that are low (hazards of SoCal). Want to have the extra rubber but not sure about doing the lift. Have 20mm spacers on my stock 20's now, but want to add in the 275/60/20 KO2's that people seem to be using. Is this possible? Or do I need the lift rods? And if I need the lift rods, would maybe doing just 1" be enough?

Also, can't seem to find, how low does access height lower the car? Or is there a level below access height?

Thanks ahead!

You have the same use case as me, you might be interested in the LLAMS height controller, it does the same thing as the lift rods, just in software, and you can adjust the amount of lift (or lowering) on the fly. Thread here : LLAMS height controller

Thanks for the input! I have actually looked at the LLAMS height controller, but I do want the self leveling, and honestly didn't want to get too involved into the retrofitting of the vehicle as i'm not sure how long i'll be keeping it for... am testing the D90 out for now but may be wanting a D110 V8 in the future once there's more cars out there.. maybe Q1/Q2 next year.

Wondering if stock height w/ the 20mm spacers would work still.. or maybe in the alternative 265/60/20's in KO2's which I think was suggested in this thread as well...?

No worries, what do you mean by self leveling? there should be no difference between the lift rod and the LLAMS lift. the LLAMS kit is plug and play too, but you do have to remove some of the interior trim to get at the plug.

20mm spacers will make things worse. I currently have 275/55 R20's on and they are fine without spacers, rub with 30mm spacers. I have 20mm spacers on order which should just barely be ok if I measured things right. without a lift it's risky to try anything above 32"

I had read that the self leveling air suspension does not self level anymore after the installation of LLAMS but maybe I had miss read that thread. So you are not rubbing with those tires in stock height? Good to know if so…

Yep, no rubbing in stock height unless you go with 30mm spacers, and then you might rub. Did not know about the self leveling, I'll have to look into exactly what the difference is.
