Default No Lights On The Steering Column Levers

On the darkest, coldest and rainiest night so far this year I have discovered both levers (turn signal and wiper controls) have decided not to illuminate. The lights on the steering wheel buttons still work fine. Any insight or suggestions? It will be a few weeks before I can get this to the dealer as my second car is in the shop waiting for parts to arrive from Germany. Otherwise, the truck is working fine and I’d prefer to have it to drive over the holidays.

I’m not aware of any lights on the levers. Can’t imagine why anyone would need or want lights on them.

That would be a real distraction in low light situations. I like the cab as dark as possible. PIVI screen off and dash on the darkest setting.

Yeah, no JLR products have illuminated wiper stalks or turn signal stalks. They never have. In fact I'm not aware of any car that has illuminated stalks.

I guess I must have been having a senior moment. I would have sworn the legends on those levers used to light in the dark. However, if that’s the case, it means my P300 has been absolutely trouble free for two years. Lucky me!

Lexus has illuminated stalks. My mom's 2023 RX350h has them.

Well

If I want to be incredibly pedantic.

My 1988 Range Rover classic has lighted stalks. It has a small incandescent bulb that lasts a matter of months in the steering column end of each L & R stalk, and then a fiber optic flexible tube that never is actually properly centered on the bulb -- but when it is -- it channels light down the end of the stalk to the graphics and -- the stalk is lit. The little rectangular panel to the left with the horn and directional signals on the below all is illuminated. Then on the other side (wipers) same thing.

I fixed this about 2 years ago on my 1988 and -- the stalks light up at night. It's quite cool. It's shockingly luxurious on a 1988 of any car.
So yeah. Fun.
