Default Running wires for an Anderson plug

Has anyone ran a set of wires to the back of the new Defender for an Anderson plug? I want to charge my trailer battery bank when we drive. Any help would be appreciated and don’t forget the pictures.

I did this last year. Depending on if you have the MEHV version or not might change how you do it. In my case I have the MEHV P400 SE. If you have MEHV system the car actually has a small 48v DC battery that is used for the turbo fan. The cars main electrical system is fed from this 48v system via a 12v dc2dc converter. From that converter a wire goes to your main battery under the passenger seat. All the electronics are under the load space in the back. For my anderson positive connector I attached to the lead off of the 12v dc2dc converter. For the negative wire I initially found a good ground point in the load space to attach to. I eventually routed this back to the battery. Both of these wires I ran through the load space to a hole that went out of the body on the left hand side. There was a rubber plug i needed to remove. I then routed the wires behind the bumper over to the 7pin plug and fashioned up a mount for the anderson plug. One thing I did not like about 7 pin plug and anderson connector was having to get on the ground to plug anything in. I recently moved both to these.

This thread Dual battery has lots of information about where you can grab power and how to route wires.
Here is the post with what I did to move the 7pin and mount my anderson connector

Default Thanks for this post.

Thank you for this post, coming off the DC2DC will be much easier than routing back to the battery. I will also relocate the trailer plug location, it’s a bad location and can get grounded on rough terrain.

2 questions:

Why did you need to reroute the ground back to the battery?

Do you have a picture of the location of the plug you pulled to run the wires to the bumper? I see a couple of plugs used for other wires, I did not see an unused spot.

thanks again.

Mainly because my dc2dc draws 50A and wanted to prevent any interference with the cars other electronics.

I don't have a picture of the plug. I believe it is used in Europe for the automatic tow ball electronics.
