Indeed, looks like a solid piece. Rubber, not plastic; feels similar to the original cargo area bottom. Sure thing, there is some play when you put load on it since the double sided tape is just holding it on the perimeter, but the rubber feels anti-skid enough to cling to the bumper and hold this thing in place.
Installation is simple, but the final step better be done with a helper - the double sided tape protection is slippery, it will be tricky to position it and make the final fit alone.
Only time will tell what the adhesive, dust, and moisture will do to the bumper, but alas, I bought this vehicle to scratch, not admire, and this is a utility piece to make my life easier, not to protect it from scratches, so I just got a spare bag of popcorn and some patience.
First photo: original packaging.
Second photo: this is how much tape is left after the perimeter is covered. In hindsight, I should've cut it to pieces and applied them perpendicular to the thing, but well, it's already there so I'll do it if it goes unglued. This would also make the final fit much trickier - we just peeled off the very end of the protective tape and held the whole thing in place,https://landroverforums.com/forum/20...90/#post940577 then pulled it one side at a time - look how it curled.
Third photo: the final result. I think it's not quite centered but with all these shadows and light play nobody will ever know, including myself.

Switched out my 22" Octa wheels and tires for the Octa 20" wheel with the Goodyear Duratrac RT tires for winter. Also requires the much needed Octa mudflaps as dirt and gravel flies up the side of the car and without PPF (which I have), the pait can get damaged - or so I've read on some forums.
I got the OEM Octa mud flaps from Hunters Prestige for slightly less than the LR price - $400 instead of $584 - I also bribed my LR service advisor with a bottle of decent tequila to drop the install costs significantly.
As much as ive bnever been keen on the agricultural mud flap look, this car needs them to avoid the inevitable crud that flies up the side of the car when you put your foot down (and my foot is constantly down), and I dont think it looks too bad. I kept the gloss black arch trim peices in case I decide to remove them at a later date.
how hard is the project? Do you happen to have any diy link you can share? I’m trying to do same just to remove license plate holes. Let me know. Thanks!
Finally installed integrated air compressor. I know there are a lot and cheaper options available out there but wanted to keep oem look. Removing/reinstalling trims were the hardest parts and drilling holes on the panel was a bit scary but all other parts were delicate but pretty straight forward.
