Beautiful setter! I'd love to make a trip up your way to hit some grouse woods with my boys.
Ruffed grouse season's from the 15th Sept until 14th Nov. closes for deer season and reopens 1st Dec for entire month. Woodcock season starts a week or so afterwards and goes 45 days or something like that, l believe. Flights usually move through first couple weeks of Oct. and then they are gone.
Me, my favorite times of the season are the last two weeks of Oct and first week of Nov. (second week of Nov is good to, but deer hunters are normally setting up their camp and "some" can be dicks about dogs in the woods). Anyhow. During this time, the broods are broken up (more singles or doubles...better dog work), leaves are coming down or the majority are down and birds are more mature, educated and stronger fliers.
If and when you decide to come out, let me know...be more than glad to show you around.
Sounds like a great trip, and yea it is tough letting someone else work on your truck.
Yeah, a lot of the time while in BC...thought about all of the pictures you've post from your areas. The camera lens lends very little of what it actually looks like in person, it's mind blowing, scale and depth wise.

Won't make it this year but we've been kicking the idea around for a while now to see some family outside of Detroit, and of course I'm pushing for it to be a fall trip and to drive the dogs out haha
Usually, when we'd get a new set of cooler lines (trans, power steering, etc). They get shipped/delivered with rubber caps on the ends to protect line and threads of fitting. Me, l save them...and throw them in a drawer.
Well, after cuttimg vertical supports, which some were hallow pipe that was open all the way through into horizonal pipe. So, needed something to cap them off. Lowandbehold...the rubber caps came to the rescue. Put a little gasket sealer on the inside and installed them on pipe.
Needed the upper railing off, so l can install my roof top tent on back of rack. Plus, if l let enough air out of the rear tires...she fits in the garage now without removing rack!
Installed adjustable 4 way flasher, since converting rear to LED, this was a must.
Finally got my fuel cap, after leaving mine in ND.

Even like the looks of it moreso, being rail-less.
Once tent is installed, next up, solar panel and double jerry can mount for up top and one low profile container to mount between solar panel and tent.
You just a need a bumper sticker that says 0 to 60 in 3.5 miles - saw that on a old defender I passed it cracked me right up
Hate to give the public hope with those type of unrealistic numbers...lol.
Truth be told, did have some concerns regarding Victoria's abilities to climb steep hills out west. But, for the most part...she did okay. The 200tdi (110 hp) is way better than the 2.5TD (87 hp) it replaced.
