2003 Dll Swap/Build
Hey Brain got some laughs and felt the same crap in this thread lol, but I gotta ask a couple questions; 1) How is the 2in springs with the 1in spacers? Any issues with the standard length break lines? 2) Have you had to wrestle the spark wires yet? If so any tips?
About to tackle these things myself and seem to get lost in old forum posts from dead disco mike and dead spike555

Brake lines were fine and l didn't notice any vibrations or weirdness with three inches of lift. The rover "felt" right at that height, too. Still had a good center of gravity and never felt top heavy to me. Just wished l'd have gotten the CDL installed and put her to the test before giving up on her. But, she was just to far gone, frame-wise.
Just remove the upper intake manifold. It's about twenty minutes tops, and it makes the whole job more enjoyable. It makes routing the wires so much easier, too (around the back of the heads). Plus, you can check out the valley pan for leaks, while a part. Common issue, valley pan leaking coolant. Another thing worth getting into...is the injector o-rings. These o-ring are getting to be several years old...and creating vacuum leaks...or worse yet...fuel leakage. The connector on the fuel rail has a little gray button you push in to release hose from rail, then just unbolt and replace o-rings.
Good luck.
Brian.

Southern trucks are the cats meow. I will never if I can help it buy a northern truck. The Excursion is so clean underneath, my LR3 if I smack something with a hammer 2 pounds of rust fall off lol
Hey I’m in Southern Arizona got mine from Phoenix and zero rust it’s nice car shopping down here and you can get a nice one around 4K in Arizona too
Still in a holding pattern, been thinking about changing gears and going another direction for a build (if l buy something). Been in contact with a couple different 110 owners and trying to make up my mind. Love the old school of them (64-78 series models) with their basic drivetrain and no electrical nightmares...but...then l see a nicely built Dll with it's creature-comforts still intact and how unstoppable the 01 was with it's CDL and traction control...and say...okay, white rover were going to do this!
