It's not a Rover build thread, MGB with Ford 302 power :D
Totally agree, some of the solutions to swap problems on there are outstanding. Plus reading over some of their parts lists have probably kept me away from some time delays.
A couple of progress pictures.
The motor as I picked it up

A few hours of work later

The heads are now at a performance shop for valve spring upgrades, some port work, a slight decking and 2 broken studs being removed. The heads are decent from the get go since they are a gt40p. Always room for improvement though

A few more pictures. Progress is at a stand still as the machine shop is three days past when they were supposed to be done. They are now promising that it will be done tomorrow. I'm not holding my breath at this point. Never using these douche's again, no matter how good the work is....
I helped my buddy take his 302 out of his 1970s Bronco today. It is the original motor, we think, and runs like a top. The only leak is from his failure to keep the copper washer on the drain plug. It took two hours, start to finish and we are as non mechanical as you can be. Carburated, iron, compact, simple. What a machine. Great choice for an engine!
A bit more forward progress. Tomorrow should see the new crossmemeber mounted and maybe the first test fit of the 302.

this some what lucid old guy showed up He was the original owner of my MGB so I figured my Dad could stay.
Just shy of 70 years old and still ready to wrench on the MGB. I couldn't do this project without him.

Anyone need a engine and tranny?

Maybe an exhaust or some carbs lol

Scrubbed and cleaned a lot of grime out of the engine bay and prepped for tomorrow. My vacation is over after tomorrow. Looking forward to going to work so I can relax
Got the front cross member pulled today along with the entire front suspension. That went quick and easy. The hard part was pulling the suspension off the cross member to be transferred over to the new modified one. 40 plus years of never being moved, grime and rust slowed us down at every turn. Two bolts snapped off in the king pin assemblies, they are getting dropped off at the machine shop as I don't want to risk screwing up those parts with a ez out. No more work by me on it till Saturday aside from ordering parts to replace ones found damaged during the dis-assembly process. My dad however plans to clean and paint the parts that will be getting re-used.
A few pictures of course. Yes those are steel rims with wood under the frame rails. The jack stands are to tall even at their lowest setting. It had the whole body sitting at a pretty big angle nose high. It did not give me a warm fuzzy feeling and this left it just a bit above level and much more stable.
