Well that's no fun. Admittedly I hate tracing electrical gremlins so I get it

My rant for the day...
The biggest problem I have with local UK Land Rover garages is when they tell me they have to replace parts like the EVAP canister vent solenoid for £300/$385 when just a month ago I replaced that same solenoid for £50/$64(!) trying to troubleshoot the engine bay's blown F2 fuse problem.
Exorbitant garage part costs p!sses me off to no extent.
The thing is the tech's at the garage have never worked on a SAI system before so I know that £300 part wont fix the problem. They are doing swap-tronics to find the fault.
Rant over...

@JUKE179r the part swap diagnoses is way too common everywhere

Are you blowing the fuse or fusible link ?

The mysterious dead short is blowing the engine bay's 15A F2 fuse that controls EMS consisting of SAI, Purge valves, Camshaft position sensor, EVAP canister, Leak detection pump, all 4 O2 sensors and MAF.
I'm all about part swap to verify a problem but if that $385 solenoid that they had to order doesn't fix the problem, I don't want to be stuck paying that cost. Especially when I spent $64 for the same vent solenoid. I'm sure they will tell me "The solenoid was on it's way out so it's good that we replaced it."

Guess what... Lo and behold the newer purge valve solenoid the garage installed did the trick! I pick Myrtle up tonight and the total cost is £272/$357 for parts and maintenance. I guess for the 3 weeks time they spent troubleshooting the problem, that really isn't a terrible price.
I think my previous rant was due to my bruised ego of having to own up that I needed professional help since I couldn't find the electrical fault on my own.

Glad it's finally sorted. I know that feeling all to well.

Another one...
Got a deal on another Nanocom Evo but for a Disco 2 TD5.
Waiting on my friend to tell me if he wants to buy it. If not, it’ll go up for sale.

I bought a Nanocom windscreen mount for £40 from https://twinwoods4x4.co.uk/product/tw01 ... een-mount/
It was a bit costly but much needed and fits the Nanocom perfectly.
