Engine wash help
I use oven cleaner on my engine...works great! Just spray where you want it (Avoid hoses and belts, this stuff eats away grease and I'm not sure what it would do to rubber) let it set for 5 minutes then just rinse off. Hope this helps!
I sprayed down the engine and engine compartment with Meguiars All Purpose Cleaner Plus D103, available from a forum sponsor Superior Car Care Products - Car Wax, Auto Detailing Supplies, Car Polishers and Buffers. I then used a Daytona Speed Brush (Daytona Speed Master Wheel Brush, auto detail brush, Wheel Brush, Tire Brush, Detailing Brush, Corvette brush, Mercedes brush, sport wheel brush, brush for spoke wheels, engine brush, best detail brush) to get into the nooks and cranies. This got me to about 90%. I needed to revisit some areas were the oil was caked on, these areas were directly on block.
Superclean is another good degreaser - Products | SuperClean
Don't let superclean sit on alum too long, it is corrosive. Meguires APC+ is neutral and can be used on a variety of surfaces besides the engine compartment;
Floor mats
Dash and door panels
Clear plastic instrument panels
Tires and wheels
Fender wells
Leather
Vinyl
Carpet and upholstery
Molding and trim

Lol, none of the above products were part of the free stuff. I am just trying to pass along some knowledge. I got the detailing bug a couple of years ago. I just don't have the time for it.
