Default 96 D1 - Drivers door can lock but no unlock?

Bought my Disco like this but just getting around to looking into it. Nothing in the search that I can find (within reason!). Broke my key in the door yesterday so I had the door panel off, which inspired me to look into it.

So all I see back there is a little microswitch with two wires, one black and one yellow. The yellow one looks to have been crimp repaired and then re-cut. Splicing it again has no effect.

I can unlock the pass side with the key, and lock/unlock with the pull pin on the inside.

Not sure what is used to unlock the door! All I can see on the inside is the key turning a cam that runs pas that microswitch..

Advice?

If you are talking about no power unlock it is a weak power door lock actuator.

Mine was doing the exact same thing, I lubed the actuator with silicon spray and it has worked for 2 years now.

Thanks for the advice. I fiddled with it more at lunch, with no real rhyme or reason, and it's started to work. I'll post up again if it dies again and I have a legit fix.

Spray some lube on all of your door lock mechanisms.
