Gotcha, and I agree.
It was the "counter productive" comment that I was concerned about. It made it sound like a snorkel would reduce performance.

Danny, I wouldn't worry too much about the inside of the air box being dirty. As long as the lid is clean inside and the hose to the MAF is clean the filter is doing it's job.

All getting cleaner air going in will do is extend the filter life, how much is hard to say so you have to determine if it's cost effective.

A centrifugal pre-cleaner will keep the air going in to the filter the cleanest, but about the only way to install one is with a snorkel.

I did not know you sunk her!!!

I guess hacking up the air box would be more trouble than it is worth.

I am just happy to have it doing as well as it is with a clean MAF, new plugs, wires, and filters.

Yes I literally sink it over the windows, oops. No more d1 for me. LR3. I still never got the picks from a buddy
