Default Axel Drive line or transmission play?

uick question for the forum. I just replaced my steering box and hoses with a remanufactured Maval box. Amazon.com for 360 buck. Whent great no problems so far. While my right tire was up on a jack stand was rotating the front tires forwad and back and noticed a bit of play in the tranny. it wasnt in the axel or drive line. It felt like the tires rotate about 10 degrees left and right kind like there is neutral spot while its in park is this normal?

I have a question about the play in the transmissions. I have a 1999 disco sd and I have the same problems but it also slams in to gear pretty hard. Is this normal to or should I have the transmission reworked with the upgrades that are available on the market. Thank any info would be great
