This may sound totally dumb but I gotta ask..

On the end that goes into the booster, there is a yellow plastic cover. I assume it is to protect the components during shipping and needs to come off for installation (?)

I read that you can't bench bleed this before installation. Is that correct??

Just trying to only do this once since it is a might cold outside so I gotta work fast.

Weather isn't cooperating so it is going in to have the MC replaced. local shop has been pretty good to me so far..

took the Disco in yesterday at 8 AM and was told the MC would be done by noon. 2:30 I called and they said a mechanic didn't show up for work. I said I would pick it up the next say at 9AM... Showed up at 9:30 and they were still working on it. At 10:51, it was finished. WOW! 26 hours to replace a master cylinder and bleed the brakes!! no wonder these trucks are so expensive to get fixed!! (just kidding) I guess we now know why I fix my own vehicles...(also charged me $275 and I supplied the master cylinder)

we will see overnight. It would leak out most of the fluid when temps got below 20 degrees overnight! I am thinking it is the seals in the MC...
