Default Check Engine bulb?

When I first bought this truck, the CEL was lit. I cleared the ***-load of codes and began the process of the 60k.

Fast forward a few months to present. The light has never come back on (not even when just turning key to "ON") since I cleared the codes that first time.

I went on my first real drive on friday. Still no light, but I figured I would get the reader out afterwards to see if anything popped up. Only thing is the TPS (P0123 I think it was?), verified bad by the live data which shows it at a constant 93.

Is this simply a fried bulb that needs to be replaced?

yes, and most data scanners will show a status for MIL (malfunction indicator light) AKA CEL. That way, you can't fool inspectors, and a wise shopper takes his own code reader....

Cool, thanks!

Do you happen to know what type of bulb it is?

It is a little peanut bulb, your best bet is to take it to the autoparts store or dealer with you, the bulb I mean.
Or you can swap it with one that works, like the red "service engine soon" light.
That one is a non issue when it comes on, it will not trow a code for that one either, so just swap the bulbs, thats what I would do.

Pinky- Sorry to hear about but- I totally would not fix that. I would only rip that out to remove it. I can plug in my scanner if I want to see my CELs. FYI- on your way to the inspection, stop next door, clear your codes and have an inspection. I think you should be good for fifteen minutes- No? Good luck

Ah, its not an inspection problem as we dont have 'em in MN. I just wanted to know if it was a bulb issue or something worse.

Does the AntiLock bulb swap right in? I took my pump fuse out so I dont really need that.
