Just a simple question regarding a brake bleed on a Discovery 1 (‘99 was a transition year to Disco 2, but this is a series 1).

Is it roughly as simple as cracking the bleed valves, draining the fluid and replacing the fluid and that is it?

Since it has ABS does it require using a scanner tool as well to purge the system or is it a Simple fluid replacement?

Crack the bleeders & go for it. I've never had an issue with bleeding a D1 or having to power bleed it.

 

1. rear passenger
2. rear driver
3. front passenger
4. front driver side

 

I had a lot of trouble with my 97, ended up using a hand vacuum pump that worked great! and you could do it with one person.

 

I use a Motive Pressure Bleeder with a Power Probe master cylinder adapter. Well worth the money IMO.
