Default Emissions test "OBDII NOT READY"

I've been in twice to get my emissions testing done. Both times the test said "OBDII NOT READY". In each case it said the Fuel Sys, the Evap Sys, an O2 sensor and a Heated O2 Sensor were all "NOT READY".

but here's the kicker: I've put about 400 miles on it between the two tests, including today going through the drive-in procedure that I found elsewhere on this forum.

I don't understand how they could be "NOT READY", unless that's code for "BAD".... but no codes are popping, not even pending, according to the UG.

Where do I go from here?

HELP?

You might try downloading the GEMS system manual (Savannah Buzz has the link in his signature line) and look up what the requirements for the readiness monitors are, I suppose it's possible (not likely though) that your particular driving habits don't meet all the requirements (things like distance, temperature, speeds). I've never heard of anyone driving that distance and not getting a pass or fail on the readiness monitor. The GEMS manual should give specific information. Other than that I would suspect a funky ECM (or BCM, I'm not sure where the OBDII is controlled from)

My 1999 disco 1 ds did the same thing. Failed for the same exact reason. With mine it was the computer testing each of those areas and they come back not within spec. some cases it will throw a code fast sometimes it takes a long time. CA smog law states that you can pass with 2 pending or " Not Ready " but no more.

so my o2 sensor was bad and i have a failing cat. you might want to start with o2 sensors and test those and possibly look into the cats. ill bet money you have an o2 sensor going out.
