I dunno? I just kept going until it felt tight. I think if you use DannyLees suggestion of a couple wraps of teflon tape it would be plenty good.

and if that ends up being a(the) problem....remember when you order that there are LH and RH of these, (4LH & 4RH on each side) , also.... to add to the a$$ache you may pinpoint one or two, and by the time you get the rockershaft out of the head....the alluminum rocker may have cooled off enough and shrunk enough to make it hard to find the rattler.....just re-heat the suspected rocker with a heat gun or a 100watt bulb and it should loosen up the culprit enough to find it. They used to make solid steel rocker arms for these, maybe someone still has them.

Going to take lots of firewood, firewater, and wild critters to take care of that clatter.

Replace the cam too. If you're a tech you already know that

If you're gonna do tappets you should always do cam. I'd do a compression test to see if the piston rings are sealing cylinder if not.... You might was well do the whole damn thing.

Get a crower cam if you get one they are hundreds cheaper than a genuine land rover cam.

Or just live with it. It will probably last a long time fine.
