fuel gauge failing
I dropped in an entirely new assembly. Ebay - $65. It seems fairly well built but the motor is likely an 'unknown'. I saved the existing motor and also had another backup in the parts box. I'll keep one in the truck if the new motor fails.
It is a surprisingly easy job.
I also took the opportunity to touch up some surface rust spots. Treaded with POR-15 and painted.
