Default How do I remove the dizzy?

I can't figure out the trick to get my distributor out of my 1995 Disco I.

I can see the bolt that I think I need loosen but I can't get to it with a wrench or a socket.

Any help would be great.

You remove the clamp bolt, clamp and spacer then pull out the distributor. Be sure to mark the location of it before loosening the clamp.

That's the problem. I can't get anything on the clamp bolt. It's situated in such a way that it seems impossible to get a wrench or socket on.

Hmmm, wanna remove the dizzy and can't figure out how, sounds like a win/win situation to me. I don't even wanna ask why your removing it in the first place.......

You know why GOD invented the "Distributor Wrench"? So you'd call him by his correct last name - Almighty and not the one you've been using.

Let me clarify for you...

I know how to remove the dizzy, I don't know how you're supposed to get to the bolt.

Is there truly a distributor wrench?

As to why I want to remove it is of no consequence to the question. Maybe I want to adjust my timing, maybe I need to work on it, maybe I just want to throw it over the hill so I never have to work on this over temperamental vehicle again in my life.

Just googled distributor wrench. There is such a thing. I've removed plenty of distributors in my life, never needed a special wrench. Now to go find the correct one...

I can't remember the size, but I'd get a set of crowfoot wrenches, they'll come in handy for other things. Probably a set of flare nut crowfoots would be most useful.

Old thread, but just removed mine with a 9/16 wrench (spanner). It is a tight fight and the radiator fan regularly got in the way. A ratcheting wrench would be ideal.
