The belt is fine, can anyone tell me the proper direction of the thermostat, thinking it might be backwards.

 

Ok, looks like the thermostat is placed right, i tried with another hose and that one blew after about 20 minutes of driving.even removed the thermostat housing to verify again that the water pump is pumping correctly and it is. So no overheat until pressurizes and ruptures the hose. Any suggestions???

Can you flush water through the radiator with a garden hose, without any issues? How about the engine? (you'll have to take the themostat back out).

Yes you can flush with garden hose and rags. When done pour several gallons of distilled water thru to flush tap water.

 

Buzz I think he wants to know what caused the problem and what the solution was

 

Try running the engine without the thermostat. I have a feeling yours is stuck closed.

I thought as the past post was in 2011, the OP had solved the problem by now - or there is a cheap Disco on the market
