The, Ok I'm going to rebuild this 95 R308 D1 Thread.
OK, so I have the truck running somewhat decent now.
See-

Some 600 grit sandpaper and the oil pumps a pumping again. (yes I know)
Anyways, I figured now was a good time as any to start the rebuild thread so if your interested you can follow along on it's transformation.
Going to pull the dash to fix an issue there, replace the front seats, replace the headliner, and other interior bit bits.
a lift and new rims and tires, brakes, etc.
Then hopefully a 2.8 Izusu diesel mated to the R380 (5 speed) Already have the full kit lined up, and am working some other deals to make it happen asap.
I'll be on the lookout for a winch bumper plus a new rear bumper plus some other goodies. I'm cheap, so it will be used stuff that I'll repair/paint weld etc.
The base of this project, this Rust Free 1995 D1 with a 5 Speed. That I picked up for 600 bucks. (I know right?)

This truck of mines up for sale to help finance the build....

played with the truck a little more today. Started the tear down, almost finished completely pulling the interior. Ran into a little surface rust and hit that with some phosphoric acid. Stripping the truck gives me the change to really go over everything, remove and of the old harness I don't need anymore etc. I'll be rhino lining the floor or something similar before it goes back together.
Dash looks to be to gone to save. PO's tore it apart trying to get a stereo installed... plus of course the glue issue... I'll just have to find a decent one in a parts truck.

Stripping the inside it done. Sad to say, but I DID find a little rust. The padding itself was damp and stunk. I'm glad I took it all out. So I'll have to cut those little sections out and weld in some new steal. Could have, and would have been a LOT worse if left alone...
Check out this repair in the drivers door... to prevent you from rolling down the window all the way... something else to fix.
Also, look how clean the heads are on this engine... they have obviously never even been driven (except for the little I've done which is only a couple miles)

Good luck with it that is a ton of a work. You should definitely replace the dash. You can get one off an old D1 at a pull apart easy. There's a D1 here in Charlotte with a good conditioned interior, I've seen it myself because I took the heater core out of it lol.
Drivers side floor. The corrner up by the clutch. I've already ground it, tomorrow I'll cut and weld what I need to to fix it and hit the area with acid. Then give it a good coat do rust oleum. Should be good until I get the spray bed down.
Dash is defiantly being replace. Already have a line on one I'm checking out tomorrow. Going to take the time to remove more of the wire harness... All of the stero wiring coming out next. I'll run new better wire when the time comes.
Nothing like getting to know a car intimately by doing this.

Ok. My F350 sold yesterday, guy will be picking it up and paying balance on friday so I now have the funds to put toward this project. Not a lot to report, I cleaned up any rust I found, hit it with phosphoric acid, let it turn and dry, then painted everything with flat black rustolium for now. It's been crazy hot here the last couple days... record breaking. last thing I want to be doing is sitting inside a black land rover welding. So hopefully I'll have the 2 small holes I discovered repaired by this weekend.
