P 1362 and misfires: replaced coils, still problem?
Disco 1996, got code 1362 and cyl 8 misfired. I swapped 2 coils, and got same problem. It seems that it implies it is not a coil issue. Could this code 1362 indicate a wire or spark plug issue? It seems to imply a more complicated issue, pre-coil.

Well not only are you guessing and wasting money, throwing parts at it but you might, in the future post in the D1 section so I don't have to move your thread again.
As for that misfire, you always start with 8 mm plugs and wires, make sure you are burning 91 plus octane and do an induction cleaning.
By the way, hold on to those old coils, they are still good.

Clarification on P 1362
mike- thanks for input - I have swapped coils a few times, so I had spare ones. The truck has been running fine for 50K miles. swapping 2 of the 4 coils with each other did not help: I got the same 1362 code. I was hoping that the code would follow the "bad coil", but since the same code came back, I agree it is not the coil. Could that code just mean that I have spark plugs or wire problems? These are fairly new, maybe 10-15K miles. Easy enough to replace the wire, but I hate to keep on guessing when I don't really understand what that code 1362 means.
