Painstakingly removed hood paint and hand finished a brushed aluminum finish. Goal is to strip and finish whole vehicle. Very time consuming.

Are you putting a clear coat on it?

No clear coat. I stripped the fuel door as a test and it seems to weather very well. Makes sense considering it's the same aluminum used in boats. Worse case, I'll apply a corrosion inhibitor.

I didn't mention, but you can see, I've also stripped and rebuilt my wipers which are steel on the arm, and aluminum on the base. I've applied a corrosion inhibitor treatment to the steel part which has so far prevented any rust.

I want D90 brakes Damnit! One of these days. The hood is sweet! Isn't the roof steel though?

That hood looks pretty sweet. Can you get a pic from further away? I saw a Series that was bare aluminum once, looked pretty cool. Yes the roof is steel.

Roof will either be painted as close to aluminum color as possible or coated with corrosion inhibitor. Either way it'll be covered by a roof rack.

I say black roof and black wheels.

Have you fitted the wheels on with those spacers yet? I have the same ones and the RRC solid nuts would bottom out on the studs before the wheels were tight. I had to zip about 1/4" off each stud on the adaptor.
