Made a new CB bracket and welded it to the spare tire carrier. Noticed lug studs were bent because the stock welds were broken, so re-welded those too.

replaced the land rover aux lamps with a LED bar. still need to add another coat or two of yellow. this bar was a cheap one, so it is like 6500K and the blue tint still shines through the paint a little bit. water temp down 5 degrees on average due to the extra air flow.

Parked her away in the back yard out of the way. Too many vehicles for the driveway!

Where have you guys been able to go to get keys cut for your Disco? The key I got with mine has a crack down the middle and doesn't open the doors anymore.

I finally made it to the dealership to get the numbers for the key but every locksmith I've called has no idea what I'm talking about and just wants to copy the cracked key. Is there some keyword I don't know about that will tell them what I'm asking them for?

Just go to a locksmith give them the key, they put it in a cutting machine with a blank and cut a new one no key codes needed

They even cut keys at Lowes/ homedepot

The problem I have is since the current key is cracked/bent it only works on the ignition and nothing else. The reason I got the numbers for the key is because I couldn't use the current key as a template.

peterdemski,

unfortunately, then your probably going to be making a trip to the dealer. They are the only ones that those number really mean anything too. Most lock smiths have never cut a key from a number only copied keys.

The dealership didn't have the tools to cut keys there so they told me to go find a locksmith. Actually drove the Disco to work yesterday. Got there and it wouldn't shift into reverse right away. Going to check the trans fluid tonight since we're supposed to be taking it up north to pick up a trailer and the bike.

What kind of ATF should I be buying for this? The Major service page just says high mileage ATF while the AB tech tips page says ATF 3.

Finally got around to figuring out where one last bracket for the front passenger door went after tearing apart the driver's side door. This was after replacing the front passenger door lock spring!

Only have the driver's side spring left to replace now!

Funny thing is that the passenger door seems 90% resolved from the previously broken spring except that now from the outside you have to pull on the door handle almost twice for it to open :-(

Not ideal, but better than before!
