So what did you do to your Disco today?
Had fallen out of love with my D1 for a while now. Was traveling away from home for the last two weeks and started to miss her. Got home last night, so this morning I went out to say hi. Her battery was dead, so I started hump starting her with my other car. After a few minutes, her alarm went off, almost as if to cry saying she missed me. Drove her around the neighborhood for a few minutes. Brakes rubbing, ABS light is on, but still drove just fine. Radio says "code" still, even though I entered the one the dealer gave me.
Friday I went and bought 4 new BFG Ko2 235/85. Saturday I loaded up the truck and headed to Utah. We went to Duck Creek area. We wound up going to Zion and Best Friends animal sanctuary. We Volunteered to work with the horses. Did some offroading in some really wicked loose sand. Nearly tipped over twice. I could easily touch the ground out of the drivers window. Tires did excellent. Truck did great on the 700+ mile trip. Zero problems. I even learned some things:
1. This and all the Rovers I've had before, need more power. Or re gearing. Or both. It's was really slow up the long 8% grades. Fully loaded with tools, fluids, luggage , two big dogs, two adults.
2. I can make this truck reliable. I spent much of the first part of the trip in paranoia about breaking down. Eventually I relaxed and it was fine.
3. I have a really really really annoying driveline vibration that I need to sort out. It made high speed driving (and driving at 50, 70mph) miserable.

Beautiful pics! What type of rear drive shaft joint do you have? Rag or cross? 2" lift?
Changed out my steering dampener. Took out my original leaking radiator and put in an aftermarket plastic aluminum plastic tank one, was pretty pleased with myself until I filled it an noticed a small leak from one of the side tanks.. Really dreading the thought of having to ride my bike to work tomorrow.
Took a little drive passed house on the Rock and visited a few parks along the way. But had to stop at Walmart on my way home for a windshield repair kit. $10 later no more half moon in the middle of my line of sight
ABS blink codes indicated a lack of signal from both front ABS sensors (codes were 2-12 and 2-14).
Replaced the ABS sensor seals and bushes on both front wheels. ABS light extinguished (at least for now) after 5-6 drive cycles.
If this is a long term fix I will at once be surprised, and amazed that ABS bushings are >$20 each here in the states. They are little more than a piece of pressed copper rolled into a cylinder shape. Can't be more than $1 in materials.
I ordered from LR Direct in the UK in order to save a little money and to see how the ordering/shipping process would go with a low value item (low risk). While the package did take two weeks to arrive, it was a success. I ordered 4 bushes for a total of $32 including shipping. The sensor seals are basically the same price both in the U.S. and the U.K. so I sourced them from AB.
I'm guessing that refreshing the seals and bushings would solve ABS problems for many D1 owners who have simply pulled the fuse for the ABS pump and pulled the light from the dash.

I ordered a full BritPart polyurethane bushing set from LRDirect.
Sept 15, 1:45pm : Order placed
Sept 16, 9:03pm : Package tendered to FedEx in UK
Sept 18, 9:43am : Package delivered to my house in Illinois
Stuff coming from the East or West coast doesn't even come that fast! Amazon Prime had nothing on LRDirect.

I wonder if your parts were on backorder or something. Or maybe they just sent it snail mail to keep shipping costs down? My shipping cost was about $32 IIRC but the bushing set was still $70-80 less than anywhere stateside.
