So what did you do to your Disco today?

Alternator rebuild

super easy to do. Can't beat the $40 investment. Maniac Electric Motors put the kit together for me and added it to their website.
My brushes were down to the nubs and the bearings were toast. I have high expectations this unit will last another 20 years now.

Oil and filter change today. Castrol GTX High mileage 10w30. Mann filter. Didn’t realize that the the oil drain plug was such a large size. Had to use a adjustable wrench. It was the only thing that fit. I really got to get a set of ramps to squeeze myself underneath easier.

I washed the 95 D1, and got all the nasty pollen off of it. Paint is not showroom new by any means, but it's all there without any major oxidation so I'm extremely happy with the old gal! It cleaned up very very nice. She's probably the most original old LR I've ever owned and certainly the most rust free D1 (absolutely nothing frame/body wise).
Got a few parts in today, so I replaced the fuel filter (glad I did as the o-rings were almost 100% shot!), and I also replaced the vacuum advance on the distributor. Last night I changed out the upper gauge cluster bulbs with some 4k Type 74 LED's. It really made the gauge needles and light from above much much better. I also replaced the single HVAC bulb with the same type LED. I am still waiting on the Auxbeam Eagle LED headlight bulbs.
