These are only on the CA models I think - it is a 'reminder' to replace your CAT oxy sensors which no one ever did
I just removed my module when it came on at about the 105K miles - (it times about every 55k miles - the dealer had punched the hole in my module the first time as part of a dealer service many moons ago.
The service engine light will still light up when you turn the ignition on as part of all the other idiot lights even with the timer module removed
The module is brown and has TRW on it - see picture - the little green land rover seal on the top is just paper and as Walt's instructions show you just push the pin thru it and trip the relay

Thanks all, I have seen those instructions but mine doesn't look like that image, it may be hidden up there somewhere, just not where the instr photo shows
My car was originally from Canada, then imported to the US and speedometer was replaced.

Reason: addition of vehicle location
Did you put new rotors, I have replaced pads a few times but I really need to do the rotors, one shop has a lathe so they can do it on the vehicle but I will have to see if they are in spec and can be turned. One shop quoted about 3K to do the rotors & calipers and Master, that is pulling the whole thing apart.
I do most work myself but don't want to come up against something I can't fix and can't hire someone to look at.

You'll need some paper gaskets and perhaps a new seal (use RTC3511 which is a Defender part number). Roverparts.com is a good source for the little stuff.
Yeah I did new pads, rotors, calipers and regreased the bearings.rear brakes are next. Hopefully the calipers are good. Everything is starting to add up, new interstate battery too. Lol
