LOL. Yea it is fine. 😉 The top plug is pulled off of it for a switched plug. But I also needed an unswitched for the GPS receiver I use with the iPad.

Put in a new master cylinder. I guess TRW is Lucas now? Or has been for awhile?

Anyways I used the whole 20 foot 3/16 ID hose from each wheel bleed nipple back to the master to bleed the system. Actually worked very well. Interesting method I hadn’t use before. Effective if you’re not set up to bench bleed the master.

Calipers on 1999 through 2002 discos said Lucas while 2003-2004 said TRW, so I’m guessing that’s about the time when it happened.

So you run a hose all the way from your caliper bleed screw back into the MC? How is that batter than just bleeding into a container and just topping off the MC?

Honestly, I don’t know the ancient Chinese secret behind it. Something about being able to pump the living crap outta the system to remove all the air and keep the master constantly filled at the same time. I tried the usual methods and just could not get my master to properly bleed. Some way, some how, man, it worked. It also really isn’t much more difficult than the regular way as far as effort or complications.
You already gotta put a hose on each bleed nipple so you’re equal there and if you properly secure the hose to the master it stays put. Only difference I could see in the process is MAYBE spilling a slight bit more fluid in the changing hose positions to each wheel. But that’s more me not clamping the hose tight enough once or twice. It only requires one person which is a plus and you can sit there and pump and watch the air in the line go by until it stops.

Last time I bled brakes, I used a hand vacuum pup and opened the bleeder sucked the fluid and air until I had about 1/2 container and refilled the MC, worked well and didn't need 2 miles of hose or clamps. Whatever works for you I guess.
