Disco 1 pre facelift
I've been hacking away at my 30 yo beast, mate saved the body for me, been replacing all sorts, door lock springs dam things, we just today got the oil coolers sorted, bro the tranny fluid was almost black, and it still went well.
196000kms, mite of got wound back, never know.
Home run now, all new fluids except anti freeze thats mint, fisholine?, doors back together, glass in, light wires out roof, wire lights n gauges n solar setup, interior in, then I'll tie a fallen tree to it and wreck the olds paddock just to wind my mother up, yea I'm a khant, but thats another story, we haven't tried to make it perfect just tidy enough to make warrents easier, decent buff I think she'll be mint, can get some photos, but I'm not gd at technology, mite take awhile haha another d1 saved

replaced Fuel Pressure Regulator and a bit more...
My UltraGauge kept showing a pending PO131 code. Searching possible causes, one was low fuel pressure. I have a fuel pressure gauge on my fuel rail and could confirm at idle about 28psi.
I bought a new fuel pressure regulator and started the process of installing it. I read some people took the coil pack off to get to the bolts. That proved to be difficult so I decided to just bite the bullet and remove the plenum chamber. This would take me down a path of severe Shipwrights disease.
Since I had the plenum off, I might as well pull the fuel rail and clean the injectors. Also, while I have the Plenum off, let’s clean the throttle body inside the plenum. Might as well pull the oil separator out of the valve cover and clean it. It had some gunk on it but not too bad. I’m and going to do Best4x4’s PCV valve mod.
I bought injector o-rings and filter baskets off Amazon Here is the Link.
Also, I bought an injector cleaner off Amazon here:
I know some people make a cleaner with a Schrader valvebut for $25 it was hard to beat and it worked great.
The filter baskets looked caked up and one injector was stuck open. I can’t confirm this but one injector shot a straight stream not a mist but I may have not had it seated properly. I back flushed all the injectors using Berryman’s B-12. I greased the new O-rings and put the new basket filters in.
After re-installing them, I bolted the fuel rail down and crossed my fingers. I pressurized the fuel system and checked for leaks. My gauge on the fuel rail went to 40psi then down to 35psi. Finding no leaks, I went ahead and put the ram housing and plenum chamber back on. I put a thin layer of Hylomar on the ram housing and the plenum and torqued the bolts down.
I also cleaned all over the intake manifold. I couldn’t believe how much dirt/sand was caked on it.
I also installed a new fuel filter. The spark plugs and wires only have 5k miles so I left then.
I have to say it really sounds so much smoother. I need to drive it to see if gas milage improves and if the PO131 code is a cleared. The little I have driven it, acceleration feels stronger. I’m now awaiting parks for the swivel ***** and more shipwrights disease.
