The fronts are NTK 25044. Perfect fit and specified for this vehicle. I can't remember exactly but I think I replaced them after the misfire codes.

The rear are old, bad, and unplugged.

Plug in another set to the rear and see what happens?

I am thinking I need new O2's as well. Is a STFTRM11 AND STFTRM21 THE SIGNAL FROM THE FRONT o2'S. mY SHOWS-25.0 AND LONG RESPONSE TIMES.

Since everyone's been asking, here's the conclusion (for now) to this story. Buzz hit it right on nose. The ECU temporarily enters Stage 2 monitoring for about 20 seconds. During this time it switches to the downstream O2 sensors which I know are bad, and now unplugged. This causes the ECU to report faults. I haven't replaced the downstream O2 sensors to try to correct it because I don't have CATs and it's a superficial problem.

Well now - perhaps something like this will help out: CI Motorsports Intelligent Oxygen Sensor Simulator

So I am guessing you would need one for each rear sensor?

Yes, but keep in mind you could buy real O2 sensors for as much.

I had a damaged cat,( from misfires caused by a soaked computer issue last winter) kept getting P0430. I purchased an "O2 spacer" from O2 Spacer - CEL / MIL Fix - O2 Sensor Spacer - Oxygen Sensor Spacer - 02 Spacer ....which pulls the sensor out of the exhaust stream to simulate a cat that's ok instead of one that apparently has a little extra "flow". It's been a little over 2000 miles and no more P0430...so far so good (knocking on wood here !) they sold me a pair of them for about $50.00.

now that I have one...there's no rocket science here....everything is threaded 12MM -1.25, thread this into the O2 sensor hole and thread the sensor into this. (behind the cat)

At this point I have left the "good" side alone. If you have a bad cat , or are going catless this may help with the cel until you decide to install new ones. (yeah, I know)

What I am wondering now is we have been repeatedly told on the front o2's affect the fueling via the ecu. From looking at what Sava found and apparently ET confirmed, the rears can have an effect on ecu.

Update:

Diagnosis (I) was WRONG.

I installed two new O2 sensors in the rear to fix the misfire codes. No effect.

Now I wonder if my ECU is damaged. Early on, before I knew better, I removed plug wires while running to diagnose something. I wonder if the voltage spikes damaged the ECU causing a weak spark now.

The puzzle continues...

I'd love an update on what happened with this misfire mystery.
