Yeah, when I am driving down the road at about 50-55mph, I am running around 3000 RPMs and rpms go up as speed increases. Not changing into any other gear. Seems like I should have another gear to go into

Hope that helps

YOU SHOULD BE LOCKED DOWN IN OVERDRIVE AT THAT SPEED AND running 2k rpm (approx)

my detent cable actualy is a little limp at idle between plenum and bracket so be sure it not to tight

if seafoam or similar and trans service did not fix it either you have a stuck valve body like previously mentioned or torque converter / pumps going out imo, if it is the trans good used are cheap iirc from guys on here that part out rovers

replacing the lines is a waste of $ imo unless they are leaking, 1/2" lines are not gonna clogg unless you dump dirt into you trans , check fluid level at idle in neutral, over filled can be as bad as underfilled

I gave in and took to the shop to diagnose.

The fluid level is correct. I am waiting to hear from the shop at this point I think if I dont have them do any repairs (unknowing what exactly there is to be done) can I take the valve block off and replace the valves? is there a replacement kit of sorts?

And the TC, what servicing can be done there as well?

TY

if the clutches in the trans are shot , needs rebuild, if the torque converter is bad maybe get away with replacing but trans comes out so...

valve bodies stick, detent out of adjustment, can be a bad pump, clogged cooler, theres only so many things to go wrong
