03 D2 blower for heat and A/C vents
So, when I turn the heat or A/C on, and turn the fan on 2 or higher, I hear kind or a restricted air flow rumbling sound, that seems to be coming from the other side of the fire wall. The noise is subtle on fan position 2, and louder on 3 and 4... full blast fan. heat and A/C working normal... blowing hot and cold air respectively... just noisy so I keep them on 1
any ideas?
thanks

Most likely there is something in the fan, dust, leaves, nuts or whatever else got sucked in over the past 9 years. Pull the black panel out below the glove box to gain access to the fan. Take the fan out and clean it up, if there are still noises the bearings are probably shot and you will need to replace the fan (call Paul Grant...his contact info is DiscoMike's signature) or look on ebay.
Also, for preventative maint. open the hood and see what the intake filter looks like, if its still even there. It runs along the back side of the engine compartment.
Here is the replacement or make your own:

Yes its probably crap in your fan. You'll be surprised at how much is in there too. for easier access take off the glove box, then take out the 3 bolts on the fan right under it, pull it out and you'll see your issue. Fix it before using it too much as you can blow your power transistor running it at high load too long.
