I just bought an 03 disco w/ 70k miles on it and after a long drive this past weekend (600 miles) the service engine soon light came on. I did notice after the drive that I was down a quart or so of oil.
Any ideas?

The oil didn't cause the light to come on, I would be concerned as to where it went though.
As for your check engine light, go by your favorite auto parts store and ask them to check your truck for fault codes, make sure they give you the fault code numbers and get back to us with them.
Your light is on because the ECU has spotted a problem, may be minor, but get it checked soon.

The SES light on my '00 Disco is on. Can anyone tell me where the plug is on my truck so I can check the codes?

If you have a scanner for the OBD2, it is located under the steering column.
If you don't have a list of the code faults, get back to me with your numbers and I will try and help you.
