Default 1997 d2 dead

Drove to store, came out would not start, but solenoid clicked. Thought it was battery, jumped nothing happened. Removed battery, had it checked, totally charged. Put back in vehicle now nothing happens, will not come out of park, no lights, radio, or solenoid clicking.

First you do not have a 97 D II no such thing.

Have you checked the inertia switch?
I would be checking your main ground as if its not connected properly you will have nothing.

even with the ground not clamped there would probably be a good enough connection for low current things like dash lights and door chime.
x2 on inertia switch. Also could be be the disabler. It does goofy things sometimes. The ETM has the circuit desciptions to see what to check.

LOL !

Don't let Mike rattle you.. He's actually pretty ok...
But yes, you have a D1 if it's a 97...

Check voltage from battery to main fuse panel under hood.. Then move into the fuse boxes under the drivers knee panel... You've got to be losing it somewhere.. Gotta be a main ground or something pretty damn obvious for nothing to work...

Just put your meter on the negative battery lead and start checking positives... I'm betting you don't get far without finding the cluprit...

Jumper cables can be your friend.. Run one between the battery negative and the engine somewhere and see if it lights up...

Good Luck.

John

On a 97 the black wire on the battery negative runs down along the radiator to a tie in spot on the frame. Has to be clean and tight. The under hood fuse box has two cables at front. They have to be clean and tight. The battery cables have to be clean and tight. The cables on the starter have to be clean and tight.
