Default Air Cleaner Box Removal

Checking the air cleaner today, I noticed I had alot of "dirt" in the bottom of air cleaner box. So I decided to clean it. Did not see any posts on how to remove it so I figured it out on my own.
The easy way would be to just vac the box clean, i wanted to pull it out and give it a good once over cleaning.
...remove the mass Air connection from the box.
...remove the air cleaner top.
...remove the 2 nuts securing the inlet to side wall (in picture) The lower part of this part disconnects from the airbox itself.
...the lower part of the box is secured by 3 posts, set into some rubber holes and with a nice firm pull upwards it will come free. PICS BELOW(Watch the little return line on the top of the radiator and your ACE / Power steering resevoir when pulling up on her.)
if this post is redundant... sorry. Thought it might help someone done the road. ( I always like to see pictures)
gives you nice access to do some spring cleaning in the front part of the engine compartment.

Nice job. Write-ups are always appreciated, and pics are definitely the most useful. I still can't figure out how to edit pics on my computer.

Pics definitely help out... I love to see a good pic before attempting to take something apart...that I haven't done before.
FYI...
If you have windows photo gallery
Use the OPEN tab at the top
Then I choose PAINT...
Can resize the photo there and use options to draw the lines... Etc.

Now just leave out the filter box and make yourself a cold air intake... I run a K&N cone filter. Have had this setup for the past 3 years. with no problems. Before all the nay sayers make their claims that the K&N will kill your MAF. Untrue just clean & oil it LIGHTLY it about 3 times a year and its fine.

Boss....
Any pics of your set up? Would like to see what you did. I ran a K&N in my d1 with no issues. Like you said...just did not over oil the filter...

Make sure to re-connect your MAF sensor!

bosshogt may be running the KN cone filter, and has had no problems. But ask yourself why KN does not warranty their filters when used off road? See the factory website.

I'm wondering if you also have a snorkel, or other such external air intake.
If not, how does the addition of the K&N give you a cold air intake?
