Default Amigos/which trailer connector

Pulled the 114 code today and would like to do option b fix in the sticky above. Can someone recommended the specific trailer connector you used to splice the wires to and where did u get it?

I don't know if it makes a difference but I am just hoping to do this job once and don't want to get the wrong gauge wire or something like that.......

I used a standard trailer connector which was then sealed by shrink tubing. Dont forget to put slide shrink tubing on before you clamp the connection down. I did

Yes, it's just a standard 2-wire trailer connector. I don't expect they come in more than one gauge. From what I recall it's probably 14-guage, maybe even 18-gauge. It doesn't much matter; the harness wire you're splicing into is small, maybe 22-gauge. And instead of a crimp connection I soldered mine, and then slid the heat shrink over the soldered connection.

In fact, you don't really need the trailer connector at all. You could just splice in the new wiring directly, running one from the green-yellow wire directly to one side of the switches and the other from the other side of the switches to the new grounding point.

I did this the second time around. I got sick of fighting the code. I'm guessing some trailer connectors don't make the best connections.
