Any secrets to removing the crankshaft pulley?

You could have put your breaker bar on the crank pulley nut and put a piece of pipe on it to make it long enough to wedge against the floor.
Then tapped the ignition key once or twice and she would have came right loose.
You would have let the starter do all of the work.
You pull the fuel pump fuse to make sure she does not start.
That was where I was going next and is why I asked which way the crankshaft turns. I just did not want to have to go back to autozone and buy a shorter 24mm socket. My wife bought a longer socket and it is too long for the wrench to stick out the gap between the radiator and the engine.
