Thumbs down Back Sunroof won't work

Hi everyone,

On my DII 04 the back sunroof does not open. I'm not sure why because the front sunroof opens and operates perfectly fine. Sometime this summer I took the entire headliner off and sealed the leaky roof that these DII's had but didn't bother to work on the back sunroof at the time. What do you suggest might be the issue?

Thanks so much and hope everyone is enjoying the holiday season!

Can you hear it attempt to move. have you tried swapping the switches with the other roof. Are you trying the switch at the front. What have you tried at this point? There are so many things that it could be but first is to check for power.

I can't hear it attempt to move at all, I press the switch and there's nada. I suppose I could swap switches to see if power even runs to the back. If it does, it might be a motor?

Drop the headliner a little bit and take that motor out. Its probably shot from water or age.

Put a multimeter on the harness and have someone press the switch. You should have a reading.

There is a little square plug that can be popped out of the plastic trim just a few inches from the switch. Once it is popped out you can put a small allen wrench in the motor shaft (forgot the size), can turn the motor by hand. If it doesn't turn, the problem is the motor. Pop the switch out and there is a screw under it, pull the trim around the sunroof and you can drop the headliner enough to remove the motor.

If it does turn, could be switch, relay, or control module.

Good luck.
