The crank sensor controls spark.
The cam sensor controls injector pulse.
If the inertia switch is tripped it is supposed to kill the fuel pump only.
Reset the inertia switch, press it for 3-5 seconds and then try and start the truck.

It is a black rubber button next to you washer tank, button on top.

p0317 is a rough road fault, also. & your symptoms remind me of it tripping, it's free and easy to check, just push it down.

It's worth trying.

How do you get the Crank Sensor to get spark?. I have replaced it and still cant get spark.

Helps please. (:

Since i cant seem to fix it with your advice, i am going to try buying a new Cam Sensor. Ill see how it works.. thank you for your advice

A quick question:

Does my car(Discovery 1996 land rover 4.0) have a main relay, ignition module or power relay?

Yes, yes and yes. Relays are under the kick panel on the passenger side. They are a standard Bosch relay. The ignition module is under the steering column/dash panel and hooks into the fusebox and the ignition (back of the key).

UGH! What happened? What did you do to fix the issue? I am having the same symptoms....changed CRANK POSITION SENSOR twice now! NO SPARK!

the insides of the distributers can come lose and also unglued due to age and heat that fixed my spark and started straight away and havent had a problem since so right under the points and that was also what was wrong with my new dizzy as well worth looking at a nd let me know how you went ?
oh if you suspect flooding hold your exalarator to the floor it will give half fuel untill in starts ?
