Hi all, I'm about to order a CV8 for my 2004 D2 HSE7. Any advice on which (Signature vs. Blackline) long block to order? Any other input on what else to obtain through Cannibal is much appreciated!

I would go with the Signature with the ceramic coated manifold, and I would add the performance cam. Why? the Ceramic coated manifold helps with heat dissipation and the Cam wakes it up. I have both and can not say enough positive things about it. But Talk to Steve there. Tell him Frankel says hello in Atlanta. He is very very knowledgeable and great to deal with. Ask what the backlog is as well. This is tornado season there and this may have impact as well as previous orders.
Also you can choose what colors to paint the block etc... make sure the front cover/oil pump gears are perfect.

Thanks for the input Yoops! I'll get the info over to the mech, who's installed a couple CV8s in the recent past. Hoping the D2 will be breathing again in a few weeks.

I would ask them not to paint the block. Everything I have read and been told says that painting the block "locks in" heat. But what do I know...

Gregster36 - How was the Cannibal motor? I'm seriously considering a Cannibal and would like to hear recent experiences. Thank you.

I have about 10k on my Cannibal motor. I went with the longblock with the cam option and ceramic coated manifold. The only issue i had was the ECU needed to catch up with the different cam duration. Sometimes it throws a code but I erase it with no issues. Power is increased over stock and I could not be happier. Experience from Steve at Cannibal was/is +100%....

My experience with Cannibal/Steve is the same as Yoops. I had one issue when one of my coils went out, but that was on the manufacturer he was using for hotter coils. Steve sent out OEM replacement coils to me at no charge and the truck is running better than ever. Steve said he will not be using that particular manufacturer for coils any more. Could not be happier with the product and service I have received.
