any update on the Cannibal V8 install? Still considering this option versus a rebuild/ACR/Turner motor.

Mine works great! I could not be happier...
Do yourself a favor, call Steve at Cannibal and ask away.

Default Gas mileage

We (The Shop) put a slightly used one back on and Steve stepped up and sent me another machined one now on the shelf (to be put on soon). So No more leaks ...and I mean no more leaks anywhere! Drive train, tranny diffs.. etc....
I have put probably 600+miles on the motor which only gets VR1 10-30 Valvoline Non Synth (high Zinc) for the first 6k miles and it pulls great with the upgraded cam shaft, seems to get better and better with more miles. I also am now enjoying the upgraded brakes slotted/dimpled EBC rotors and Ackemo pads and they have gotten better with more miles as well. Also the ceramic coated exhaust manifold from Cannibal really helps dissipate heat quicker than a stock manifold (a well worth it addition)
Anyway I could not be happier with this decision. I could not be happier with Steve and Cannibal - top notch customer service and follow up! .....Well maybe TDI but that was more expense and more complicated than I wanted. For anyone like me that is sick and tired of the Stock motor oil issues, noise issues, head gasket issues and slipped sleeve issues this motor from Cannibal is the ****! Not cheap but finally a Bullet proof set up....this is the way they should have come from the factory.... I also added a huge 950 CCA AGM battery to help keep my lights and winch going strong as well. New fender flares are going on next week as well. Finally a happy camper .....
Did you get improved gas mileage? How much?

Maybe 13/ 14 mpg if I was lucky..but 4.12 gears brought down to 11 or 12

It runs great though no complaints

Different Cannibal Motor but more pics of their quality work. This one knocked from day one and had oil pressure issues. Cannibal did not stand behind their product in any way. The knocking was the pistons smacking off the top hat liners. Wrist pins were bound up and the final insult to injury on this 5.0 Performance build? Standard 4.6 parts all the way through.... No grind to the crank and stock rods, pistons appear to be aftermarket stock replacement. Still digging on that.
